Hedera18 Recap & Dapp Ecosystem
On next Monday November 19th I will be co-hosting the Event Hedera18 Recap & Dapp Ecosystem at Mindspace. The event is as the title suggests a recap of the very first main conference for Hedera an open distributed ledger technology platform that took place last October in Dallas, Texas, USA.

Hedera is not a Blockchain!
There are awesome Blockchains. Bitcoin is the King of peer to peer cash transactions and Ethereum let’s you build your own coins and CryptoKitties on top of their platform.

I have been a friend of Bitcoin and Ethereum for quite some time. Personally at the time I was responsible for organizing events at Webmontag in Frankfurt we did have the very first Bitcoin Introductions and I myself have been responsible for architecting and deploying Smart Contracts running on the Ethereum platform.
Disclaimer: I do continue to support both Bitcoin and Ethereum platforms.
Having said that, I strongly share the belief that there is room for more ways of being able to do complex trustful transactions and that’s why I support the Hedera Platform as an Ambassador.
So what is Hedera?
Hedera is based on a graph and not a chain, hence it is not a Blockchain. It would go too far to explain the differences in this post which is one more reason to:

For now let’s just say Hedera uses a very sophisticated math-proven algorithm to gossip around messages backed up by prior knowledge and so is able to get to a consensus about events that may have occurred in a very fast, fair, secure and as equally important in an environmentally low energy consuming way. This protocol is called Hashgraph and if you have yet no heard about hashgraph,

So what happens on November 19th?
On November 19th, Christoph who was also responsible for the first Frankfurt Hedera Hashgraph Meetup at Frankfurt School will present a short primer about the DApp ecosysytem. DApps are Applications that run on many nodes independently, so they are distributed applications, hence DApps.
Yours truly will speak about Hedera crypto-economics and a new way to do micro-payments with even lower transaction costs.
As the highlight of the evening, we are very excited that Hedera’s Product Manager — Donald Thibeau will join us live on a video call. Donald will provide us with the roadmap and hopefully answer your questions, so:
